The National Police Service (NPS) on Tuesday morning allowed motorists including the public and tenants to collect their cars parked at the 14 Riverside Complex attacked by terrorists last week.

Since the attack orchestrated on Tuesday January 15, the building had been cordoned off to allow security agencies to collect forensic evidence as the probe into the attack gathers pace.

After the attack, the police recovered abandoned explosives and safely detonated them.

The Standard on Tuesday reported that Police Spokesperson Charles Owino had said that the motorists would be allowed back into the building one week after the attack claimed 21 innocent lives and left scores injured.

During the attack, more than 700 people were rescued by security agencies which have been praised for a better coordinated response to the attack in comparison to the Westgate and Garissa University attack.
