NASA coalition on Friday changed the course of Nairobi County governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko from naming a Deputy Governor after requesting him, through written communication to consider their nominee, Ms Rahab Wangui.
While addressing journalists in Kilifi County, Mr Sonko unveiled his new cabinet but failed to name a new Deputy Governor a position that has been vacant since the resignation of Polycarp Igathe in January 2018.
According to Sonko, the NASA coalition requested him to consider their nominee and further consultations before appointing a new deputy.
Earlier this week, the Governor had announced that he had found and settled on a candidate that will fill the vacancy.
However, further consultations between various stakeholders will delay the naming of the deputy gorvenor for few more weeks.
NASA has described their nominee, Ms Rahab Wangui as “a firm believer of servant-ship who is anchored on the principles in serving the community with a vast experience in public affairs management.”
