Detectives on Tuesday afternoon confiscated h****n and m*************e worth millions of shillings, which was destined for New Zealand and China.
The contraband n*******s were found at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) concealed in a carton containing makeup kits. Investigations already commenced to nab those involved, according to a statement from the Directorate of C******l Investigations (DCI).
The seizure could mark renewed efforts by smugglers to use Kenya as a transit point for i*****l n*******s.
Last month, a Mombasa court found two people, Ahmed Bakari and Clement Bristol, g****y of t*********g h****n intercepted in April 2015 while on transit in a luxury yatch. They were jailed for 10 years.
Five crew members were a******d with the d***s in the vessel that was travelling from Seychelles to Tanzania via Kenya.
Police said the s******s, four Kenyans and a Seychellois, were part of an international d**g-t*********g syndicate.
The government later blew up the consignment using e********s on August 14, 2015. It was destroyed inside the Indian Ocean.
In April, Anti-n*******s police arrrested a man after he was found in possession of 25 kilogrammes of h****n with a street value of Ksh 25 million at JKIA.
Recently, the Akasha brothers – Baktash Akasha and Ibrahim Akasha – pleaded g****y to d**g t*********g charges in New York. The two were a******d in Kenya and extradited to the US to face the charges.

Meanwhile, the DCI working jointly with officials on Tuesday a******d two s******s for being in possession of elephant tusks (weighing 13 kilogrammes) worth millions of shillings concealed in a manila sack. The two, Samuel Wahome and Hillary Kiplangat, who were a******d in Nakuru town, were set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.Â
