Nairobi to host Big 5 Construct East Africa Expo

Over 220 exhibitors from more than 33 countries are expected at the Big 5 Construct East Africa Expo that will he hosted in Nairobi, Kenya from November 7 to November 9.

The expo is the official exhibition of the National Construction Week, with countries like Qatar, Germany, Turkey, France, Italy, China and Greece expected to be in attendance.

According to the expo’s website, construction brands such as CB, Kumkang Kind, Sika, Hitachi, ESC, Valsir, Alumil and more will display the latest building innovations and solutions.

The Big 5 Construct East Africa will also host the industries’ pioneers to present over 40 free-to-attend and CPD (continuing professional development) certified education sessions.

Topics to be covered in the workshops will include themes of affordable housing, technolog and design in building construction, project management and engineering, sustainability in construction as well as a series on women in construction and demolition.

Concrete specialist at Jaycee (India) and speaker at the event, Robin De Beer said, “We believe the CPD program is vital as it always improves knowledge within the industry. The Big Construct East Africa is perfect for these sessions because it brings together many professionals and provides a large audience for dissemination of the latest market information.”

Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing & Urban Development will serve as a patron for the expo, event organisers dmg events. While praising the partnership of the Housing ministry, Portfolio Director at dmg events Muhammed Kazi said the event has grown by 20% this year.

The National Construction Authority (NCA) and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) say they will utilize the expo to educate Kenyans on the ‘necessary legal requirements’ for developers to avoid demolitions.
