This year’s Annual Insurance Awards saw APA Insurance win 11 out of the 18 categories, scooping five overall winners’ positions, three first runners-up positions and three second runners-up positions.

APA Insurance was also acknowledged as the overall winner in five categories, best in claim settlement (Life), fraud detection & protection, major loss award, training award and best in customer satisfaction index (General).

“This is an enormous recognition by the industry and every member of APA Apollo is humbled,” said Ashok Shah, Group CEO of Apollo. “In the face of an increasingly competitive market, APA has continued to perform, and these awards reaffirm the successful implementation of our customer centric strategies over the years. It is a great boost which will act as a further incentive for our winning team”.

Product innovation, effective use of Information Communication Technology (ICT), and a customer oriented approach are some of the criteria judges looked at to award winners. APA scored highly in all the criteria.

The annual Insurance Awards are organized by business intelligence research and publishing house Think Business Ltd in collaboration with Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI). This year’s awards theme was ‘Rethinking what the customer wants’.

The objective of the awards is to encourage innovation and excellence in the Insurance sector by recognizing, awarding and celebrating exemplary performers and successes of the sector.
