The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has helped in the design of a medical insurance scheme for legal practitioners. Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo, urged legal practitioners to take charge of their health as they continue to uphold justice and defend the rights of Kenyans.

Ms Odhiambo termed Wakili Medicover as groundbreaking, saying advocates should put their lives first. Wakili Medicover has been launched in partnership with Octagon Africa Financial Services and Britam General Insurance Company (K) Ltd.

Ms Odhiambo noted that the Wakili Medicover is a reflection of her administration’s promise to deliver practical, impactful benefits to LSK members. “This is a win for our members, a tangible achievement that underscores our focus on inclusion and wellness. We are determined to make this product affordable, accessible, and relevant to all advocates,” she said. “Let this be a legacy of transformation. We encourage more members to subscribe and make bold decisions for their health.”

“Health is critical to our ability to fight for justice. As advocates, we must now also fight for ourselves – for our well-being, for our families, and for peace of mind,” said Ms Odhiambo. “Wakili Medicover should mark the end of the era of health-related crises among our members. This product tells every advocate: you matter.”

Mr Waswa reiterated Octagon’s commitment to service excellence and urged members of the legal fraternity to take full advantage of the opportunity. “At the heart of Wakili Medicover is our promise to walk the journey with advocates.”
