Radio legend Fred Obachi Machoka has taken on Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai over allegations he made on social media touching on the radio presenter’s health status.

What started as a political spat on X over Fred Matiangi’s presidential candidature degenerated into intimate insults and now threatens to boil over into a legal battle. Alai, an ally of Raila Odinga-William Ruto broad-based government, and an ODM MCA, went personal while responding to a snide from Machoka, who presents a radio talkshow on Radio Citizen.

Alai insinuated that Machoka was not sane by supporting Matiangi’s candidature as result of illness and the attendant drugs, which had, he implied, affected his judgement.

Machoka, a veteran broadcaster and owner of the famous Fred’s ranch in Kajiado County, has given Robert Alai 48 hours to issue a public apology. According to a statement issued by city lawyer, Danson Omari, Machoka intends to take legal action against Alai if the apology is not forthcoming.

According to the statement, the public apology is expected to be widespread, ensuring that every Kenyan is made aware of it. Alai, a controversial blogger turned politician, has yet to respond to the demand.
