The authorities on Monday arrested a self-proclaimed pastor in Chonyi, Kilifi County, with what is suspected to be human bones, pending investigations by the police.

Julius Kimutai Kipngeny, 51, was nabbed with his accomplice, Baraka Tsuma, along with other items believed to be witchcraft paraphernalia, including three small bottles of perfume, soap, and half a bottle of olive oil.

It should be remembered that these are the exact same things that the former Devil’s High Priest Nelson Samboko confessed that “they are fully packed with demons”, the perfume and olive oil here being used to entice the dead spirits for a false prophet to perform miracles and even healing in church.

The police said they arrested the suspects in their car following a tip-off from the members of the community, who voiced concerns about their newly established church, fearing another Shakahola uprising.

“They have not been charged as investigations are still ongoing. The investigation will unearth if the church is registered, its activities and verification of their vehicle’s documents,” Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) David Siele told reporters.

According to a report filed at Chonyi Police Station, Kipngeny, the primary suspect, had been frequenting the area for the past two months, targeting women and children.

In Silala village, he had blinded a significant following, allegedly using dark arts to perform miracles and remove witchcraft.
