In a bold move underscoring its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Rockey Africa Limited has joined forces with the Jewell Souls Foundation to provide vital food supplies to over 80 orphans and disadvantaged children in Kenya. This impactful partnership, valued at Ksh200,000,  will run for four months, ensuring that these children receive the nourishment they need to thrive both physically and academically.

This collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Rockey Africa and Jewell Souls Foundation, highlights a mutual dedication to addressing the urgent issue of child hunger. By delivering regular, nutritious meals, the partnership is not only alleviating hunger but also creating a healthier and more supportive learning environment. This, in turn, is expected to significantly enhance the academic performance and overall well-being of the children.

Ms Carol Ndung’u, Director of Jewell Souls Foundation, spoke passionately about the initiative during the official handover ceremony: “When we say food is a basic need, most people just hear it in passing. For these children, however, this food is the motivation behind them staying focused in school and the only thing keeping them away from the streets fending for themselves.” She commended the enterprise that provides everyday solutions to government and NGOs.

Supporting dreams of a young innovator

Rockey Africa’s impact extends beyond mere food provision. The company also demonstrated its commitment to educational empowerment by supporting Laurence Amuli, a bright and promising technical and vocational education and training (TVET) student. Despite facing financial challenges that disrupted his formal education, Laurence has shown remarkable talent and creativity.

Recognizing his potential, the well-known supply chain company provided him with essential electronic equipment to further his studies and help him achieve his dream of becoming an electrician. Laurence’s innovative spirit was evident when he showcased a Bluetooth speaker he built from scratch during the company’s initial visit,.

A commitment to lasting change

Mr Robert Kamau Wachira, CEO of Rockey Africa, emphasised the company’s mission to make a meaningful difference: “At Rockey Africa, our purpose is to change one life at a time and inspire a chain reaction of positive impact. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal chance at life, regardless of their background or past. Our partnership with Jewell Souls today is a testament to that commitment, ensuring that no child is denied a fair chance at life simply because they missed school due to a lack of food.”

Community empowerment

This partnership between Rockey Africa Limited and the Jewell Souls Foundation represents a significant and ongoing effort to uplift the community. By providing both immediate nutritional support and long-term educational opportunities, Rockey Africa is solidifying its role as a leader in corporate social responsibility, dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of Kenya’s most vulnerable children.
