Whichever way you look at it, Kingdom Seekers Fellowship Church has become a landmark in Nakuru city. It is a humongous structure towering above the adjacent buildings on the southern part of Nakuru city’s central business district.

This is the headquarters of Kingdom Seekers Fellowship, a church with over 20 branches across the country – and growing. Bordering Nakuru’s famous Bondeni slums, Kingdom Seekers Fellowship Church has played a major part in giving Nakuru its identity as a religious hub in Kenya. The ultra-modern building is in itself a beautiful piece of architectural design, giving the city the much deserved status.

Founded in 2012 by apostle John Kimani William together with his wife, Rev Naomi Kimani, the church attracts worshipers from all over the country. Its massive auditorium with a huge cross running is estimated to accommodate 10,000 people.

The church has also played host to many dignitaries including the former President Uhuru Kenyatta who attended one of its Sunday Services last year. Former Nakuru county Governor Lee Kinyanjui visited the church several times for various services including the 2021/2022 crossover service.

The ministry anchors its biblical teachings from the book of Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.”

The church is also the home to the Mission to the Body of Christ international (MBCI) radio and TV based in Nakuru. It has also been involved in a number of other projects including investment in real estate and education.

They prayed for the coffins with their bodies believing they would be raised from the dead. The spectacle attracted a lot of attention and seen in retrospect as a PR gimmick that boosted the church’s visibility.

Before his call into ministry, Apostle John Kimani William worked as a prison warden. He was raised in Rurii, Ol Kalau area of Nyandarua. After high school, he became a mason, a trade he is said have been taught by his uncles. He embarked on construction of houses until he was recruited to join the prison department as a warden.
