Families were treated to a day full of fun on Mashujaa Day, as Mint Mua Restaurant was launched in Mua Hills, Machakos County.
“Strategically located in the Mua Hills, the restaurant is a perfect getaway for families, groups of friends and even individuals who are looking for a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Nairobi life. Mint Mua is also the perfect place for birthday parties, weddings and all manner of events as it offers both space and serenity for private functions,” said Mint Mua owner Susan Mwawuda.
Even though the restaurant is in Machakos County, with the recently launched Nairobi Expressway, one can easily get to Mint Mua within just 40 minutes.
Speaking at the launch of the restaurant, entrepreneur and Mint Mua owner Susan Mwawuda said she was very excited to finally open the restaurant as the area needed a chill spot away from the busy Nairobi life.
“I am greatly honoured to launch this restaurant in Mua Hills. We saw the need to offer clients an atmosphere for relaxation as they enjoy the best meals. The fact that it is just a few minutes from Nairobi is definitely a plus. Clients can easily come to the restaurant for a full day of games, food and ambience and still get back home in good time,” said Susan.
The restaurant’s mint-coloured theme in the inside sitting area spans out to a cosier terrace sitting area, offering a remarkable sight of the Nairobi CBD during both daytime and night-time. Other than the cuisine, Mint Mua offers customers a relaxing ambience with indoor and outdoor sitting, making it an ideal venue to sit back and relax with family and friends as guests take in the mesmerizing panoramic views of the city below the hills.
With an aim to keep people off their phones and socialize, the restaurant has no Wi-Fi, but it has board games for all age groups, to enable friends and family to enjoy each other’s company while visiting. Other than that, the restaurant has a designated field for children to play their own games including football, bouncing castles, drawing and even painting.
“As a parent, I am well aware of the need for my children to also fully enjoy themselves when we are out as a family. Very few restaurants offer that. I also know that sometimes we just want to have fun as a family outside the home. This restaurant creates that appeal where children can enjoy games with their parents, but also play by themselves,” said Susan. “Our vision was to offer families the perfect spot to just relax and not worry too much about what their children are doing.”
The restaurant is targeting people who are running away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Nairobi life and just want a serene environment with a comforting ambience that will help them relax.
