According to a video shared on YouTube, the couple says they received wedding gifts from their fans and supporters including Leah Wambui, a real estate developer in Athi River who bought the couple wedding rings. Photo from such high profile wedding would certainly look great on Canvas Prints.
The wedding reception was held at Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC), a $ 2 billion (Ksh200 billion) metropolis in Butere owned by tycoon Mwale near Awino’s Yala home. In the video, Mr Mwale is seen giving Wode Maya the tour of the two-bedroom apartment at Mwale City and gifting it to him as a wedding gift, and another one bedroom to Miss Trudy.
The tycoon known for his generosity has built rental apartments for locals within MMTC to rent to workers within the City which is anchored by a 5,000-bed Hamptons Hospital.
“We spent only $1000 (Ksh115,000) on our wedding but God brought people who helped us with everything else,” said Awino who met her spouse Wode Maya, a Ghanaian three years ago during a YouTube assignment in Ethiopia.
