Thousands of contestants turned up for East Africa’s Got Talent by Safaricom pre-auditions that took place at weekend in Nairobi.

This comes after the Mombasa pre- auditions which were held on  May 19, and saw hundreds of participants try their luck to secure a slot for the next stage of the hugely popular talent show.

“In our quest to find the ultimate talent, we have been able to see how rich East Africa is by the gifts each and every participant has.  As we look to conclude the auditions in Nairobi I would like to urge anyone who feels they have something special in them to come forward and showcase it to the rest of the world through this platform – It does not matter what your age or ability is as long as you believe in yourself, come present and let the world be the judge,” said Joseph Kusaga, Chief Executive Officer at Clouds Media International.

Produced by Clouds Media, East Africa’s Got Talent has toured Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and finally Nairobi, Kenya which wraps up the pre-auditions phase and marks the beginning of the Theater auditions.

Interested participants who were not able to go for the pre-auditions can send their applications and a short video clip of their act online on https://rapidblue.formstack.com/forms/eagt. Alternatively, they can upload a one minute performance video accompanied by name, age and country on WhatsApp number + 254 (0)703 437 903. Both platforms will close on 2nd June.

East Africa’s Got Talent by Safaricom which is due to start airing in August this year, will have 10 episodes, with the semifinals and grand finalé shot live on location in Kenya.

Qualified participants from Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda will travel to Kenya for the live shows. The winner will walk away with Ksh 5 million (USD 50,000) as voted by the audience.
