Monday is the least favorite day of the week to many people. Maybe because it come after weekends that seem short-lived. However, starting a new week on a positive energy is very important. A little perspective shift may be all you need to turn Monday into the first of five successful and productive days.

Below are ways to kickstart your week on the right foot.

1. Get enough sleep and wake up early.

Going to bed early on Sunday night will guarantee enough sleep thus one feeling well-rested. It is much better if one wakes up thirty minutes early to spare ‘me time’. This will ensure that one does not feel trapped in a time crunch.  Further personal time creates room for reflection, meditation and healthy eating.

2. Be Positive

Before you even get to your work place, have a little pep talk with yourself.  Take time to recognize the little things you appreciate in your work. Play some of your favorite music. When you arrive at your work place, do not create or contribute to the Monday Blues talks, this is no way to improve your attitude.

If you’re able to be a source of positivity in the workplace, not only will you make your day more enjoyable, but you’ll also make the work environment better.

3. Dress for success

That new outfit that you bought over the weekend, wear it on Monday. Not only will it help you with your confidence but will also attract few complements from colleagues. Feeling good about yourself will help you cruise over the week with positive energy.

4.  Have fun at work

During tea breaks, share stories weekend with your co-workers. This will be fun and create strong interoffice network. Take it upon yourself to bring them snacks to spice up the bonding time. Make this a routine and it will be a reason your fellow worker look forward to Monday.

5. Keep Monday schedule light

Weekends are pretty heavy for most people due to the activities that happen. This might wear one down and prevent them from doing hard tasks on Monday morning. Handle the light issues and schedule for the heavy tasks for Tuesday and Wednesday.  This will also give one time to prepare well for the tasks to be accomplished during the week.
