The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) recently ordered 20 insurance brokers to cease operations. In a statement dated 8th July 2025, IRA’s Commissioner of Insurance, Mr Godfrey Kiptum, directed the brokers to stop offering services starting 30th June after cancelling their licenses.
Mr Kiptum said the decision was made in line with the Insurance Act that allows the cancellation of licenses for firms that breach regulatory requirements.
