After close to four months of waiting, fans of popular TV anchor Betty Kyalo will finally see her lively face on their screens after she announced she will be premiering on K24 soon.

Kyalo has been keeping her fans waiting after initially revealing she will premiere on K24 last Friday.

The former KTN News anchor took to social media on Wednesday to announce she will be taking over the Weekend Edition.

Kyalo, who made a shocking move from KTN News in August, posted a photo of her on the balcony of DSM Place along Kijabe Street, Nairobi, the base of the Mediamax Network-owned TV station about two weeks ago as he revealed she will be back on air “very very soon.”

However, he debut did not happen on November 23 as planned thanks to what sources indicated was an ongoing reorganisation at K24.

But, according to our sources, her fans’ thirst will be finally be quenched this Friday when she is set to anchor the K24 Evening Edition. She is also likely to host the Weekend Edition on Saturday.

Observers are keenly waiting to see whether she would draw in audience numbers. Media critics say though K24 produces very good news, especially human interest ones, but what it lacks is a presenter with the allure and studio command that Kyalo has.

With her arrival, managers at Mediamax Network are set to repackage K24’s English evening news team with Kyalo set to replace Anjlee Gadhvi, who presently kicks off the Weekend Edition on Friday. Gadvhi might be pushed to Sunday.

Betty is expected to fill the gap left by Richard Kagoe, who joined BBC, and Michelle Morgan, who quit to pursue personal interests.

K24 also poached Rose Gakuo from KBC who is currently hosting the 9 pm prime time news on Monday through to Wednesday.

Eric Njoka takes over the week alongside Karen Karimi Knaust on Thursday before making a return on Sunday.
