Kenya Breweries Limited’s flagship beer brand, Tusker, has been named the strongest and fastest growing brand in Kenya.  According to the London-based brand valuation consultancy, Tusker has registered exemplary performance this year, making it the fastest-growing Kenyan brand with a 67% increase in value to Ksh9.6 billion.

The report attributed this growth to a rebound in consumer spending, favourable market conditions and the reopening of the hospitality sector, underpinning the brand’s resilience and ability to bounce back amid changing market dynamics.

In 2024, Brand Finance ranked Tusker at fifth position in Kenya’s strongest brand. The brand has made positive strides since, surpassing that ranking to take first position in the 2025 edition.   “The strong revenue growth, attributed to successful pricing strategies and commercial activities implemented by East African Breweries PLC, (EABL).

In addition, Kenya’s growing economy and increasing urbanisation have boosted consumer spending, further driving demand for branded alcoholic drinks like Tusker,” read the report.

In terms of brand value, Tusker emerged as a fast rising and strongest Kenyan brand to take fifth position with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 97.1 out of 100 and brand notes of 10 out of 10 scores for familiarity, consideration, and reputation within its home market. This score reflects Tusker’s deep-rooted relevance in the market and strong consumer trust.

“For over a century, Tusker has remained synonymous with Kenya,” Tusker Marketing Manager, Christine Kariuki, said. “The unrelenting spirit of resilience, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and national pride of Kenyans remains at the core of Tusker.”

She said this recognition underpins the brand’s ethos: to be more than just a beer, but an emblem of Kenyans’ connections.

She went on to underscore the resilient nature of Kenyans who are central to the brand that the recognition exemplifies.

“This recognition is for the amazing team behind Tusker; from the hardworking team that brews, markets and delivers Tusker to our trade customers and partners as well as our consumers across the country, and the generations of Kenyans who see Tusker not just as a beer, but an iconic brand that exemplifies the resilient Kenyan spirit,” she added.
