Six Kenyan firms attend global summit at the Emirates Arsenal Stadium

Six companies listed on the National Securities Exchange (NSE) are in London, UK for the EFG Hermes 8th annual conference where they will meet with global investors to share insights and discuss investment opportunities.

Safaricom, Equity Bank and KCB Group headline the Kenyan firms attending what is expected to be a large turnout of c-suite executives, investors and fund managers from across the world. Centum, KenolKobil and WPP Scan Group have also sent their top executives to the London conference.

A total of 151 companies from 25 countries are set to attend the summit, according to the conference’s website.

Potential avenues of investment opportunities will set the agenda for the around 8,000 meetings between 327 institutional investors and global fund managers. The firms present at the conference represent 10 sectors and are estimated to hold an aggregate market cap of Ksh86 trillion.

Co-CEO of the Investment Bank at EFG Hermes Mohamed Ebeid said, “Frontier emerging markets are witnessing economic modernization and the opening-up of their markets, with major policy reforms at the forefront of their respective governments’ initiatives to transition from commodity-dependent to more diversified economies.”

The conference is organised by Egyptian frontier markets investment firm EFG Hermes and is hosted at the Emirates Arsenal Stadium in London, the home of Barclays Premier League club Arsenal FC. It will run from September 10 to September 11.

Last year, Equity, ARM Cement, Cooperative Bank and the NSE attended the conference.
