The 2026 SAG Awards unfolded in Los Angeles on Sunday night under a new banner, rebranded as the Actor Awards and hosted by Kristen Bell at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.
The overhaul extended beyond the name. For the first time, organizers introduced a formal dress code — “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s” — setting a clear directive for attendees and raising expectations across the industry. Nominees including Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor and Emma Stone leaned into the brief with archival silhouettes and Old Hollywood tailoring, while male attendees such as Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, Adam Brody and Paul Mescal delivered sharply constructed looks that underscored the red carpet’s commercial influence.
The ceremony has long served as a bellwether for awards-season fashion and luxury brand visibility. At last year’s event, Chalamet drew attention for an acid-green shirt and bolo tie during a widely circulated speech on ambition, while bold red gowns dominated the carpet. Danielle Deadwyler wore a geometric design by Louis Vuitton, and Anna Sawai opted for a structured, embellished look from Armani Privé. Archival fashion also retained its cachet: Cynthia Erivo selected a silver woven raffia gown from Givenchy’s Fall 1997 couture collection.
With luxury houses increasingly leveraging awards season as a global marketing platform, the newly branded Actor Awards reinforced their role as both a cultural showcase and a high-stakes stage for fashion diplomacy.
