Safaricom has partnered with Star Times to offer football fans in Kenya a convenient viewing experience of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 on mobile devices.
Safaricom has introduced data bundles specifically tailored for AFCON viewers, ensuring steady streaming of the matches.

These include 1.5GB valid for 3 hours at Ksh50, and 1GB of data valid for 24hrs at Ksh99, giving a full day access to the ‘Star Times ON Mobile App’. Additional data bundles include 1.5GB valid for 7 days at Ksh199 and 2GB valid for a month at Ksh299.

Star Times, on the other hand, will ensure that all the AFCON games are streamed live on their ‘Star Times ON Mobile App’, making it easier for fans to catch every moment of the tournament and stay connected to the action wherever they are.

This partnership will ensure unlimited internet connections, and all-access to the matches and other interesting content on mobile.

“Our goal at Safaricom has always been to offer more than just services – we strive to create experiences that resonate with our customers’ passions. With the AFCON 2023, we’re thrilled to bring football directly to the fans in a way that’s both innovative and accessible. This collaboration with Star Times is therefore a testament to our dedication to providing customer-centric solutions,” said Mr Peter Ndegwa, CEO Safaricom.

AFCON is Africa’s biggest football festival. This year’s edition is being hosted by Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa with 24 African national teams battling to crowned kings of the continent. It will culminate in its final match on 11th February 2024.
