Real Estate Developer Rolls Out Free Graduate Course

Kenya’s real estate developer, Mi Vida Homes, has rolled out a graduate program that will be tailored towards job creation as well as empowering the next-generation talent in Kenya. Mi Vida Homes management announced that the program will be offered free of charge and participants would receive some remuneration.

The six-month program will be cohort-based and will include learning and development initiatives targeting recent graduates or students in their third, fourth, or final year within the building and construction sector.

“At Mi Vida, we are committed to supporting talent within the industry. This graduate program is just the beginning of the many other initiatives that we have lined up for Kenyans this year and beyond,” said Mr Samuel Kariuki, the CEO of Mi Vida Homes.

Mr Kariuki said Mi Vida Homes has borrowed vast global experience and learnings from the United Kingdom and Asian Markets via Actis and Shapoorji Pallonji Real Estate. There is also knowledge from the United Kingdom harvested SPRE to empower the program.

“We believe that an empowered society is more effective and there is no better way than by sharing the knowledge we have,” said Mr Kariuki during the program launch.

The initiative will focus on architecture, urban and regional planning, construction management, civil, mechanical, and related engineering, and interior design, among others. The brand hopes to use the program to further its agenda of empowerment and spread the gospel of green initiatives within the real estate sector.

“We shall give special consideration to women and persons living with a disability. We shall also consider our youngsters who scored B+ and above in their KCSE or an equivalent of the same. We believe in both equality and equity and I would like to encourage Kenyans to take up this opportunity and apply for this program,” added Mr Kariuki.
