In a bold step toward reshaping Africa’s digital economy, TZEE Coin, hailed as “Africa’s Digital Gold”  is preparing to launch its highly anticipated e-commerce and drop-shipping platform on 1st August. More than just a tech innovation, this launch marks the birth of a decentralized, borderless trade ecosystem tailored for African realities.

According to TZEE founders Mercy Atis, CEO; and Ruthy Waweru, this is not “just another online store.” Instead, it’s an African-built crypto commerce ecosystem; a fusion of Amazon’s scale and M-Pesa’s accessibility, but decentralized and deeply rooted in the continent’s needs.

The platform allows users to shop using $TZEE tokens, offering everything from daily essentials and electronics to land, cars, and furniture. By leveraging blockchain, the marketplace promises fast, affordable, and transparent transactions and  free from traditional banking hurdles.

The Faces Behind the Coin

TZEE is led by two African women:  one formerly deported from the U.S., the other a mental health advocate and author. Their lived experiences power the mission: to build something Africa owns, controls, and scales globally. They have dedicated more than 12 hours a day to build this vision and are supported by a powerful team of 100 Gen Z who have already onboarded as merchants and over 1,000 young African brand ambassadors.

They are not guessing. They are hiring vetted international professionals to build and customize smart contracts from scratch. They are constantly researching and consulting with experts who have walked this path before. Everything is done professionally, carefully, and intentionally. They are not rushing.

At the core of the platform is a reinvented drop-shipping model designed to bypass intermediaries. From Nairobi’s creatives to Lagos’s fashion designers and rural farmers, sellers will be able to offer goods directly to buyers across Africa and globally. All purchases are conducted using $TZEE, creating a seamless and secure flow of digital commerce.

Buyers benefit from lower costs and faster delivery, while sellers gain direct access to new markets and better margins. As TZEE’s official page declared this week: “Africa’s Amazon? No. Something better.”

A viral post on X (formerly Twitter) put it simply: “In a few days, you’ll shop directly from Kenyan farmers, traders, creatives, and Gen Z entrepreneurs… With one coin: TZEE.”

The platform also rewards every purchase with loyalty points that can be converted back into TZEE tokens. These can be used for flights, insurance, services or to grow your digital wallet. This is not just a marketplace; it’s an economy of ownership and empowerment.

Why TZEE, Why Now?

TZEE’s creators believe Africa no longer needs to mirror Silicon Valley. Instead, it can lead with its own innovations. In a recent post titled “7 Reasons Why Africa Needs Its Own Coin,” they highlighted:

Remittances: Africans lose billions to fees each year. TZEE provides a borderless, low-cost alternative.

Freelancers & Creators: Many face payment restrictions. TZEE unlocks direct global earnings.

Farmers: With platforms like Jewel, farmers bypass brokers and sell directly.

Youth: Tech-savvy Gen Z is ready to build. TZEE gives them tools, not handouts.

Pride & Purpose: It’s not about aid. It’s about access, ownership, and dignity.

What’s Next for #TzeeNation?

As anticipation builds, the 1st August launch signals only the beginning. From booking flights with crypto to buying livestock from a Maasai herder, TZEE aims to be the heartbeat of Africa’s new digital economy. Following the launch, users will earn points each time they shop; which can be converted into TZEE tokens and used to book flights, pay for health insurance, or unlock even more digital and real-world opportunities. This is ownership in motion.

As TZEE’s founders summed it up: “We’re not just launching a coin. We’re launching a movement.”

  • It is anciently said that, “where there is a will, there is a way”. Africa had a will to to someday break the record in crypto ecosystems, the idea of many afrikans being denied their hard earned payments and being blocked for no reason by the so called crypto tycoons has been a nightmare which many wondered how this could end, our ceo madam Mercy Atieno in collaboration with her co founder Ruthy have proven that there is a way out of this. The two custodians of hope have come up with not only an ecosystem to create wealth but also a movement that will never perish forever, the movement allows African people to own their financial freedom and by extention create jobs for themselves, the movement :Tzee nation, as globally known, is built on a very strong ecosystem and is powered by different utilities ranked under e commerce which by extention will not only push the price value of the tzee coin higher and higher but will also create a jewel platform to advertise products, purchase products given that all activities are transacted in tzee coin, the costs are lower since the consumers access goods directly from the farm to them in absence of the brokers. Looking at the mirror of all these, we see that the aim of this tzee nation movement is empower the community which is Africa to develop a sense of ownership and most importantly break the purported generational finance slavery, an African bound melady that has been hoovering around us. Don’t be left out on this movement, we are all behind two fearless “LIONESS’S” MERCY AND RUTHY

  • A thousand miles starts with one step, our tzee Coin our heritage it is us to market and make it a movement and a revolution thus breaking a chain of exploitation.Thank you Mercy and Ruthy for bold decision you are more than conquers and let make Africa our business.
