Mount Kenya University (MKU) has announced the call for nominations for the prestigious 2025 Alumni Award, the institution’s highest honour for outstanding graduates.

The award recognises alumni who embody excellence, leadership, and service in areas such as community service, professional excellence, public service and leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, and global impact.

The top winner will receive support worth up to Ksh 6.7 million (USD 50,000) to advance initiatives that make a lasting community impact, foster professional growth, and promote values aligned with the university’s mission. In addition, the recipient will be presented with a certificate of recognition, and their name will be inscribed on the MKU Alumni Wall of Honour.

“The Most Outstanding Alumni Award will recognise individuals in one or more of the following categories: community service, professional excellence, public service and leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, and global impact,” MKU stated.

Eligible nominees must be graduates of MKU with proven contributions in their chosen field, while current MKU employees, University Council members, and members of the Alumni Executive Council are excluded from consideration.

The nomination window runs from September 10 to October 15, 2025, with applications to be submitted via [email protected].

MKU has called on its alumni community, both in Kenya and abroad, to put forward names of changemakers whose influence drives positive and sustainable transformation.
