K24 Weekend Edition anchor Betty Kyalo has been voted as the Journalist of the Year by Kenyans on Twitter.

The sassy anchor defeated Opposition from KTN news reporter Timothy Otieno, The Star Digital Editor Oliver Mathenge and Marvin Gakuyi to emerge the winner in the K0T 2018 Awards.

She took to her Instagram page to celebrate the good news.

We won again! Thank you to all my people on Twitter who voted for me as Journalist Of the Year. Much gratitude to all of you beloved! And of course much respect to all the other worthy contenders Timothy Otieno, Oliver Mathenge and digital journalist Marvin Gakunyi. I salute you. Thanks Twitter!” Kyalo posted.

The news came on the day she also featured on the front page of the January edition of Parents Magazine alongside her daughter Ivanna as she embarks of a fresh start after an eventful 2018 that saw her part ways with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho. It is also the year she fell out with business partner Susan Kaitanny, with whom they jointly owned the Posh Palace salon. She has since launched her own salon, Flair by Betty.

The news anchor capped the year by decamping KTN News to join the Mediamax Network-owned K24.
