Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) CEO Phyllis Wakiaga is set to extit the organisation at the end of June, after a nine-year service.

According to KAM chairman Mucai Kunyiha, Wakiaga is leaving to pursue a new professional challenge.

“Ms Wakiaga is currently serving her notice and will officially be leaving on the 30th of June 2022. She is moving on to pursue a new professional challenge in an Africa Advisory role; and while she will be missed by all of us at the Association, I wish her every success in her next endeavour,” Mr Kunyiha said.

Ms Wakiaga joined KAM as the Head of Policy, Research and Advocacy in 2013, and later took over the leadership mantle in 2015 as CEO from Ms Betty Maina, the current Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development.

“Phyllis has brought a tremendous level of energy, enthusiasm, and industry knowledge to the organization. She has implemented many critical changes and instituted deep robust structures towards the transformation of the Association, both internally and externally,” added Kunyiha.

KAM said recruitment for her successor is underway.
