KTN News has raided K24 and took off with promising features reporter Grace Kuria. The journalist took to social media to announce the good news to her fans.
“New home..Papa’s doing. Even if i had ten thousand tongues it still won’t be enough…,” she posted on her Facebook page.
Grace joined Mediamax Network-owned TV station as a camera operator after concluding her studies at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) but ended up as a features reporter in pursuit of her passion.
She had become one of the most watched feature story reporters in the Kenyan TV scene due to her specialty in human interest and health stories.
“I always have something to say but today….. Its been an amazing journey hun… Getting to know you, finding my best friend in you, working together, our outings, the few cries and many laughs the times we disagreed, shared, the times we prayed together, the times you rebuked me, listened to me and many more have been worth it. As you get into this new chapter I wish you all the best, may favour, peace and Gods blessings be upon you. I will miss seeing you everyday, our friendship stands strong may God keep us… I thank God for gifting me with a big sister…. His timings are amazing. Shine hun….and fly so high. I Love you,” one of her friends Rahel Mugambi wrote.
Her departure leaves young reporter Melissa Hanif as the only features journalist at K24. At KTN News, Grace will work alongside award-winning Sharon Momanyi, who is the features editor. Ms Momanyi was initially targeted by Citizen TV but the move appears to have failed.
