Jumia signs deal to exclusively sell Huawei Mate 10

Huawei Mobile Kenya, in conjunction with largest local online retailer Jumia, have officially launched the Huawei Mate 10 mobile devices in the Kenyan market. Jumia Kenya will exclusively sell the Mate 10 series online for two weeks before it gets into the retail stores across the country.

In a unique market entry strategy, Huawei Mobile Kenya will avail the new generation Huawei Mate 10 device on Jumia Kenya’s e-commerce platforms as part of a global launch programme.

The new Huawei Mate 10 mobile devices feature a 64GB memory and will retail at Ksh 79,999 and Mate 10 pro that comes with 128 GB memory priced at Ksh 89,999. The Huawei Mate 10 Series continues its legacy of superior product performance and longlasting battery life, while integrating New Leica Dual Camera technology.

Speaking on the launch, Huawei Technologies, Adam Lane Senior Director, Public Affairs, said: “The Huawei Mate 10 series is a device that gives users a seamless experience. A key feature is the Artificial Intelligence processor that is adaptable with ones surroundings making the phone stand out in this competitive market.”

“We are also delighted to partner with Jumia for this launch as part of a commitment to diversify our distribution channels to include popular e-commerce platforms. Moving forward, we intend to increase our market share through strategic partnerships with Mobile Network Operators, Device retailers and distributors in our quest to reach untapped markets. On Jumia, we are hoping to push through more than 2000 devices annually,” added Lane.

The Huawei Mate 10 is intelligent as it comes with the world’s first artificial intelligence processor to offer users a faster, stronger and seamless experience. Thanks to the powerful Kirin 970 with a built-in neural processing unit (NPU), the Huawei Mate 10 can analyze and adapt to its surroundings while offering a fast and strong performance.

Speaking of the partnership Jumia Kenya Managing Director Sam Chappatte said: “We are delighted to have Huawei Mobile Kenya on board and I strongly believe this partnership will go a long way in ensuring that our growing customer base access various devices sold by Huawei Mobile. We intend to have a long lasting partnership with Huawei thus ensure that all Huawei devices available online have warranty and ensure Huawei Customer service provides solutions to any rising concerns from our customers. With the increase inonline shopping we strongly believe we will play a key role in increasing the market share for Huawei Mobile.”

The Huawei Mate 10 series will also be available in Safaricom shops and other open market stores across the country.
