Farah Esmail embodies a fusion of beauty, brawn and brains — a captivating blend of an impactful entrepreneur, seasoned corporate lawyer, and a force-to-reckon-with in the fitness world for over a decade.

Now, she adds another title to her name — reality TV star! Showmax recently unveiled her as the newest cast member of The Real Housewives of Nairobi Season 2, set to premiere on May 10th. She defines herself as a pioneer in the realm of body-building, having embarked on her journey a decade ago when female competitors in the sport were scarce.

In an exclusive interview with Showmax, Farah shared insights into her decision to join the glamorous chaos of The Real Housewives franchise and what viewers can anticipate from her dynamic presence.

“I wanted to showcase the diversity of women in Nairobi and Kenya at large. I represent an alternative lifestyle — a self-made individual with layers of experiences. From corporate law to entrepreneurship to competitive body-building, I embody a multifaceted narrative. My goal is to inspire and illuminate, and The Real Housewives of Nairobi offers the perfect stage.”

Farah’s self-proclamation as a ‘body-building queen’ stems from her pioneering efforts in women’s body-building in Kenya. “I started when the sport had few female contenders. For me, it’s about empowering others and fostering unity. You’ll often find me mediating conflicts—I’m the peacemaker, the Switzerland of the group!”

If you’re expecting a whirlwind of high-octane drama and fierce confrontations with Farah Esmail, the self-proclaimed ‘body-building queen’ and trailblazer, then prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Farah is a lover of peace, shaped by her advocacy background and legal expertise in dispute resolution.

Her astrological sign, a Taurus with a rising Libra, emphasizes balance and justice, qualities she brings to the show where she advocates for collaboration over confrontation.”It’s an inherent part of who I am. As a lawyer, I’ve honed skills in dispute resolution. My astrological sign, a Taurus with a rising Libra, emphasizes balance and justice. On the show, I advocate for collaboration, not confrontation.”

Filming The Real Housewives of Nairobi was a transformative journey for Farah. “Placing a diverse group of women together creates a dynamic that’s both challenging and enlightening. It was a journey of self-discovery, navigating conflicts and personal growth.”

Her interactions with the other Housewives were equally enriching. “Coming from a male-dominated professional background, the dynamics were refreshing. Building relationships and understanding each other was a highlight.”

Reflecting on Season 1, Farah appreciates the show’s portrayal of Kenya’s essence. “It’s vital for Kenya to showcase its diversity, and Season 1 achieved that beautifully on Showmax. The drama added that spicy touch we all love.”

The Real Housewives of Nairobi S2 premieres on Showmax on May 10th, with new episodes airing every Friday.
