Elon Musk has changed his username on X, formerly Twitter, to Harry Bōlz, and many are wondering what this name means.
This is not the first time the billionaire businessman has used such an alias. In 2023, he also changed his X username to the same Harry Bōlz.
Ink for your thoughts: there is no one on the entire internet called Harry Bōlz. Not an author, not a writer, not a thought leader, not a philosopher, not even a book. Nobody!
So, at one point, after Musk’s first name change, he was asked in an interview what the moniker meant. Surprisingly, he said it is slang for “hairy bal*s.”
“Tbh, I’m just hoping a media org that takes itself way too seriously writes a story about Harry Bōlz,” the 53-year-old founder of SpaceX and Tesla Motors muttered.

His re-adoption of the persona on Tuesday came amid controversy surrounding Edward Coristine, also widely referred to as “Big Balls,” who was recently appointed as a senior adviser at the US State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, in addition to his role at the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
It sent shockwaves through the mini cryptomarket industry, where users created the memecoin HARRYBOLZ. Memecoins are volatile cryptocurrency investments built on the popularity of viral internet trends or movements, which ultimately determine their prices when fans buy and sell them.
That said, the price of the illiquid HARRYBOLZ token surged 127% against SOL, according to data from Gecko Terminal. The token had a 24-hour trading volume of just over $4 million and a market capitalisation of $17.35 million at the time of reporting.
“After @elonmusk changed his profile name to Harry Bōlz, the price of $HARRYBOLZ surged to $0.025,” crypto monitor Lookonchain said on X.
Currently, the Harry Bōlz memecoin is priced at $0.01031, but with Musk’s influence, who knows where this could go?
