Betty Kyallo Pours Out Her Frustrations Over Salon Closure

Emerging entrepreneur and media celebrity Betty Kyallo has finally commented on the news that her company, Flair by Betty, has been put up for auction. Taking to Instagram to share her feelings on the matter, Betty candidly acknowledged the challenging business environment currently obtaining in Kenya, pointing out the numerous hardships faced by businesses amidst the economic slowdown.

Expressing her acceptance of the situation, Betty said she is facing the tough reality of business operations in the current climate, highlighting the reluctance of landlords to adjust rent as a significant burden on struggling businesses. Despite the setback, Betty conveyed a sense of peace and contentment after, she noted, coming to terms with the fate of Flair By Betty.

In a statement resonating with resilience and positivity, Betty underscored the importance of finding happiness and inner peace amidst challenges. Emphasizing her personal well-being and mental tranquility over material possessions, she stated, “My peace of mind is more important than a name. I’m good.”

Amidst reflecting on the closure of Flair By Betty, Betty also shared uplifting news about the reopening of her other venture, Aftershave By Flair, tailored specifically for men. She invited male customers to visit the rejuvenated business, signalling a fresh start and a new chapter in her entrepreneurial journey.

Betty’s response to the auction news showcases her resilience, adaptability, and commitment to moving forward positively despite the setbacks in the business world. Her focus on maintaining personal well-being and pursuing new opportunities reflects a testament to her strength and determination in facing challenges head-on.

The auction for Betty Kyallo’s business, Flair by Betty, is scheduled to take place on April 17, 2024, at Leakey’s Storage Limited located on Lunga-Lunga Road in Nairobi. The auction items include essential salon equipment such three disassembled wall shelves, a massage bed stand, massage beds, a small service rack, a glass shelf, four large mirrors, towel warmers, and dressing tables.

Additional items up for auction include a microwave, small rolling seats, an office table, barber seats, CCTV cameras, a Huawei router, a small foot massager, a Mac Coffee maker, a Hiluck video recorder, a single-door fridge, and various other miscellaneous items.

She launched Flair By Betty in 2018 when she quit Posh Palace Hair Studio & Spa after a fallout with her co-founder and then best friend, Susan Kaittany. She is among media personalities using their personal brands to venture into business.
