Aspira’s retail partners have announced a price drop of up to 40 per cent on goods and services for Kenyans planning to gift and treat their loved ones this Valentine’s Day.
Aspira said that customers can now acquire luxury products such as jewellery and book holiday destinations for Valentine’s Day, both locally and internationally, with the option to pay later in instalments under the BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) plan.
“In the spirit of spreading love this Valentine’s Day, Aspira’s retail partners are stepping up to make it easier for Kenyans to shower their loved ones with affection,” said Arnold Muthama, Marketing Lead at Aspira.
Some of Aspira’s retail partners, which have announced price drops to ease the financial burden for millions of Kenyans this Valentine’s Day, include travel agencies like Oribi and Travel Shore, as well as jewellery and watch sellers such as Swarovski. Many of these partners have announced reductions of up to 40 per cent on items like the iPhone 15 and S24.
Reports indicate that Kenya is experiencing a notable rise in spending on romantic experiences as lovers seek happiness beyond traditional gifts like flowers.
According to the recent Mastercard’s annual Love Index, transactions in hotels have increased by 65 per cent in Kenya since 2017, compared to a global increase of 22 per cent.
Driven by wanderlust, Kenyans have increased their spending on gifts, booking flights and trips by 37 per cent since 2017.
