The Airtel Money and Moja Expressway Company partnership was forged to cater to the expressway users accustomed to cash payments, Manual Toll Collection (MTC), or Electronic Toll Collection (ETC). With Airtel Money now available as a payment option, customers can seamlessly top up their ETC accounts or make MTC payments at exits.
MTC customers can now make payments at exit toll stations through Airtel Money. The Customer shall provide the attendant with their Airtel registered number, then receive a push notification, prompting them to enter their PIN for completion of payment. Further, customers who opt for ETC payments can top up through Airtel Money by dialing *819# or through the Moja website. As part of Airtel’s festive season offers, payments through Airtel Money at the expressway will attract zero transaction charges (exclusive of partner charges) until end of January 2025.
“The decision to partner with Moja Expressway was driven by a shared vision to cater to the unique needs of the expressway users. Airtel Money, being a key player in the digital payment landscape, found synergy with Moja Expressway’s commitment to providing convenient transportation solutions. This partnership aims to benefit all stakeholders involved and, most importantly, provide customers with an additional secure and efficient payment choice,” Mrs Anne Kinuthia-Otieno.
MOJA Expressway Company CEO, Mr Steve Zhao, the Nairobi Expressway was designed to provide a fast, safe and convenient commute to motorists and businesses. “Our guiding premise as MOJA has always been to cater for the needs of current and potential users by availing a variety of options in our service delivery,” said Mr Zhao. “The introduction of Airtel Money as one of the payment options is a testament to our brand promise as we envision providing a comfortable and seamless experience on the Nairobi Expressway by incorporating multiple innovative payment options for our growing customer base.”
