Credit Bank has launched an insurance service that aims at educating parents and their children on opportunities they can leverage on to secure health benefits.

Through the lender’s Bumblebee Account, a parent can access a negotiated family accident insurance cover at Ksh 1,000 per year, which covers up to four members of a family ( parents and two children) at no extra cost. It comes as a negotiated bonus with benefits such as medical expenses cover of Ksh 20,000.

Securing medical insurance covers for families has become a hard task for parents especially those in blue collar jobs. It is with this in mind that the bank has rolled out this mode of securing insurance.

Pamela Mutembei, the Head of Business and Marketing at Credit Bank, said: “The bank seeks to provide affordable insurance opportunities amongst the children and guardians that not only protect the children’s savings but also creates basic needs that most middle class have neglected.”

“This kind of initiative seeks to offer a one stop shop for its customers and also peace of mind for the parents as the children indulge in various activities during this holiday season. This is over and above the attractive interest rates they are offering in this savings account of about 7% p.a amongst other value additions,” the bank said in a statement.
