Easter Deals: Solar company d.light Kenya has announced price reductions for its products to cushion clients from adverse economic challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic. d.light Managing Director for Kenya Alex Olum said the company opted to slice prices to enable more Kenyans access reliable light.

“The move to reduce the price for solar home systems is to make it more affordable to not only acquire but also access reliable solar lighting and power systems,” he said. The solar company announced a price reduction of up to 19% targeting new customers buying the PayGo Solar Home systems.

d.light D150 Solar home system will be going for Ksh1,250 from Ksh1,500, representing a 17% price drop, while the X850 plus, which comes bundled with a host of innovations. It includes a bright tube light, fully customizable lamp brightness, linkable bulbs, ultra-efficient accessories, and appliances – all powered by a zero-maintenance long-life battery, that lasts years without needing replacement or servicing.

The X850 will go for Ksh2,150 down from Ksh2, 650, representing a 19% price drop.

Mr Olum said that new prices take effect immediately and will be available at the company’s retail shops, supermarkets, and distributors across the country during this year’s Easter period.

“d.light Kenya has made great strides towards ensuring the initial cost of home system acquisition is affordable to the majority of Kenyans as it seeks to achieve its goal of impacting one billion lives by 2030,”he said.
