Interview: DukaTech Takes on eCommerce With Tech Supplies Shop

DukaTech, an online technical supply store located in Nairobi, Kenya, is one of the few emerging brands of its kind in the region.

In an interview with Business Today on Tuesday, March 2, the online store shared their journey with us and disclosed their secret ingredients for success in a competitive eCommerce market.

In a quest to eliminate fraudulent online companies came its inception in 2017. DukaTech has since then been driven to create a reliable, legitimate and enjoyable customer experience while supplying its clientele with a variety of tech devices ranging from computers and computing devices, TV video and audio equipment and more.

DukaTech spotted a gap in the Kenyan market for a consistent supplier of a variety of technology products with a readiness to supply to individual buyers and corporate at their convenience.

“The Kenyan market is becoming dynamic and things are changing at a high pace, the demand to shop online has emerged and we saw the need to have an online tech shop that corporations and buyers could rely on anytime and anywhere,” stated George Kariuki, Director at Duka Tech.

Asked what differentiates them from other online tech stores, DukaTech defined their unique selling point as their quality products, unrivalled customer experience, a desire to continually improve and their business model.

Starting small, the store has been on the up and currently employs 10 staff members. It aims to absorb more individuals who share the same goals; which is to make a difference in the tech ecommerce space.

Fraudulent customers pose a challenge for the tech store, these being individuals who purport to be customers and steal tech products without pay. To counteract this, DukaTech has implemented thorough systems in the purchase and delivery process for their transactions.

The tech-store’s long term goal is to set up DukaTech branches across different counties and guarantee proper and unrivalled customer experience in Kenya , East Africa and beyond. They intend to also invest heavily in their staff and ensure their knowledge of the market and it’s needs.

“In addition we want to be a household name in Africa and beyond as the home of quality and quick delivery on all products. The go to place for corporates with seamless processes when it comes to making orders for tech products. We are getting into very unique areas so our customers should expect very interesting and enjoyable products in the months to come,” added George.
