Kenya Power Announces Day-long Blackout in Westlands

Kenya Power announced service interruptions on Tuesday, November 11 in several parts of the country, including the busy Westlands area in Nairobi.

Major businesses and corporate organizations as well as Kenya power customers located adjacent to them will experience the interruption from 9 am to 5.00 pm.

Among the affected areas are Sarit Centre, Jacaranda Hotel, NCBA Bank, Safaricom House, Sky Park, Jasmine Center, HFC Bank, The Node Westlands, Grenadier Tower, Dunhill Towers, Woodvale Lane, Karuna Road, KESRA, Goodman Towers, Haven Court, Palm Court and UNHCR.

The Rhapta and Church Road areas will experience the 8-hour service interruption as well.

Affected areas include Lantana Road, Prof. Saitoti Road, the whole of Rhapta Road, Church Road, East Church Road, Mahiga Mairu Road and St. Michael’s Road.

Kenya Power noted that the interruptions were due to routine maintenance, apologizing for inconvenience caused.

The whole of Wote town in Makueni County will also experience an interruption from 9 am to 5.00 pm. Part of Kibwezi will also be affected.

Syokimau, located along Mombasa Road, will also be affected by the interruption from 9.am to 2.00 pm.

Parts of Kiungani Road, parts of Mwananchi Road, Part of Airport Road and adjacent Kenya Power customers will be affected.

Kitisuru estate in Nairobi will experience a service interruption from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. Kihara Road and Park Bentley Limited will be among areas affected.

Part of Highridge will also experience the interruption from 9.00am to 3.00 pm.
