Alemu Emuron, the Group Creative Director at the Kenya offices of Ogilvy Africa, is one of the three African creative leads selected to judge the One Club Next Creative Leaders show.

Next Creative Leaders is a portfolio competition that identifies, celebrates and gives a global platform to talented women and non-binary creatives who are making their mark in the world with their work and a unique point of view on creative leadership.

“It is a great pleasure to be among the three judges selected from Africa in the 2020 Next Creative Leaders,” says Emuron. “Being a judge entails looking through submissions with people’s creativity, ideation capabilities and individual skill sets in the most objective and neutral manner. As a creative, good work excites me immensely and it is what makes judging really rewarding.”

Other judges from Africa selected in the 2020 Next Creative Leaders Jury are Susan Gordhen and Molefi Thulo, both from South Africa. Next creative Leaders platform was established in 2015, collaboratively by The One Club for Creativity and The 3% Movement. It has so far named over 50 Next Creative Leaders, awarding its first-ever team last year bringing a grand total of 51 winners.

Alemu Emuron, a Ugandan born in Kenya, was raised and educated in Uganda. He now lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya. He has been in the communication industry for more than 10 years managing the creative output for key brands across the sub-Saharan African region.

His work has picked up a range of prestigious local, regional and international awards including the Clios, Cannes Lions, One Show, Dubai Lynx, Loeries and APAs. Highlights include a Grand Clio and Dubai Lynx Grand Prix for Good.

Creativity, POV and Leadership are the skills sought for in this competition. To be part of the competition, you can apply as a creative team or you can work individually at no cost.

The competition offers extensive attractive prizes not including:  Promotion on both The 3% Movement and The One Club social channels;  Invitation to be a part of the 2021 Next Creative Leaders Jury;   One complimentary ticket to a One Club professional development conference ($1,000+ value); as well as one year complimentary individual membership with The One Club with opportunities to participate in future One Club awards juries, panels and mentorship events.
