Yellow Pages relaunches travel website

Business listing company Yellow Pages has unveiled a travel website aimed at rejuvenating the tourism experience in Kenya.

The revamped www.traveldiscoverkenya.com website, which was launched on Friday, is a one-stop shop targeting tourists seeking information on available and different tour destinations and what the country’s tourism industry has to offer.

Speaking during the event, Yellowpages Kenya Managing Director Pedro Gomes revealed the website will provide detailed and in-depthinformation aimed at guiding visitors of available amenities and sites in different parts of the country.

He said the main reason of the re-launch is to give travelers detailed information and directions whenever they visit the website. This, he added, will create awareness to potential travellers of the numerous tourist destinations countrywide.

“The website;  www.traveldiscoverkenya.com is an improved, dynamic platform which has fresh content and a user-friendly interface that will encourage users to find relevant information to their travel in Kenya,” he said.

He added that the website prides itself of simple and user friendly navigations.

“This website is mobile-enabled and will help travelers find out how to get to a particular place in Kenya, get around our towns and cities, discover tourist attractions, restaurants, hotels and key contacts of social amenities,” said Mr Gomes.

He explained: “The reason for the re-launch is to assist the local tourist experience the true beauty of our country Kenya.”

Mr Gomes added that the website will also unlock new destinations as it contains has untapped tour destinations.

The website is now live and will take visitors on an exciting journey to all untapped epic places, most popular, most visited and talked about areas in the country.

It also includes information on all holiday destinations within the main tourism circuit and will be constantly be updated with information to enhance accuracy at all times.

Yellow Pages Public Relations and Marketing Manager Bertha Ngaru pointed out that the website will provide much needed support to the tourism industry and inspire collaboration with other stakeholders in concerted efforts to revive the struggling tourism industry.

“You will find a brief insight of the place how to get there and where to stay,” she added

The launch brought together different industry players with Ngaru saying they have partnered with Trip Advisor and visitors to the website will be able to give feedback and rate their experience.

Other partners include the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), Kenya Wildlife Service and National Museums of Kenya, among other stakeholders.
