Nation Media Group Editorial Director Mutuma Mathiu has effected more changes at the twin towers with Sunday Nation Revise Editor Francis Wambilyanga being named as News Editor.
Business Daily writer Peter Munaita has been appointed Editor, Africa Project while Charles Omondi is the new Foreign and Diplomatic Editor taking over from Aggrey Mutambo, who had been named to the position early this month. Mutambo, who was the Kisumu bureau chief, has now been appointed Senior Diplomatic Writer.
Training and Quality Editor Henry Gekonde has been appointed as Editor, Revise Desk. John Kiplagat, Washington Gikunju, and Leornard Guchu have been named Saturday Nation, Busines Daily and Sunday Nation assistant editors respectively.
Photo editor Joan Pereruan is now the Visual and Syndications Editor while Harry Misiko and Dave Opiyo have been appointed assistant news editors.
Allan Olingo, Caroline Wafula, Jeremiah Kiplagat, Stella Cherono and Benson Amadala have been named as regional editors in charge of Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru and Kakamega respectively.
Others named as editors are Caroline Njungé (Society & Magazines), Faith Oneya (Living) and Njoki Chege (Lifestyle, Pishi).
Dorothy Kweyu, Peter Wangai, Allan Buluku and Henry Munene have been appointed as revise editors.
Mark Agutu has been named as Editions Editor while John Wafula, Henry Githaiga and Martin Mwangi have been appointed as news, digital and Sunday deputy chief sub-editors respectively.
This is the latest restructuring implemented by Mathiu, who took over from Tom Mshindi at the end of last year. Early this month, Mathiu appointed John Kamau as head of content.
Lucas Barasa, who was the Mombasa Bureau Chief, has been appointed Politics & Parliamentary Affairs Editor.
Kariuki Waihenya, who was moved from Production to the Special Projects Desk early this month, has now been appointed Education Editor. Bernard Mwinzi was named to replace him as Production Editor.
Weekend Deputy Editor Julius Sigei was appointed to head the Agriculture desk.
