Citizen TV has poached glamorous K24 presenter Serah Ndanu Teshna to replace Joey Muthengi on Day Break.
According to reports, she will host the show alongside Willis Raburu and Waihiga Mwaura.
A holder of a degree in Tourism Management and Sociology at the University of Nairobi, Ndanu previously hosted K24 Alfajiri and the Screen Therapy show host on KTN.
Apart from her TV career, Ndanu is also one of Kenya’s most celebrated actresses and quite notable for having leading roles in both television and film projects.
The 29-year-old previously hosted the breakfast show ‘K24 Alfajiri‘ and has won numerous awards as an outstanding actress including Best Lead Actress in 2011 and 2012 during the Kalasha Film Award
She has appeared in quite successful projects like the film The Rugged Priest in 2011. Due to great performance in it, she scooped the 2011 Kalasha Award for Best lead actress. In 2013, she was cast as leading lady in Swahili drama, Sumu la penzi. She shares credits with Avril, Naomi Ng’ang’a and Joyce Maina. The latest being playing Trizzy in the dramedy series Sue na Johnnie aired on Maisha Magic East.
She began acting in church at age five. Her mother was a drama teacher and this helped to push her into acting. She continued acting when she joined Phime Academy in Western Kenya for her primary school education.
In Class Five, she got to play the lead role in a play set for drama festivals. The drama teacher at the time realised she had potential and gave her the lead role despite her age. She ended up winning Best Actress award during the national contest. In high school (Loreto High School, Matunda)
Muthengi resigned in November following a row with the Maalim Juma Road based media station’s management over her appearances on Betin adverts, a move which drew the fury of Royal Media Services (RMS) owner S.K Macharia, who also owns a betting company, Shabiki.

RMS does not run other betting companies adverts while editors are also not allowed to publish stories on any betting company other than Shabiki regardless of their editorial significance.
