The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration has maintained a clean audit record for three consecutive financial years after receiving unqualified audit opinions from the Office of the Auditor-General.

According to the department, the positive audit outcome means its financial statements were found to be accurate and fully compliant with relevant financial regulations. The results mark a significant improvement from previous audit cycles that had recorded unresolved queries and compliance gaps.

Officials said the clean audits reflect strengthened financial controls within the department, improved compliance with Public Finance Management Act regulations, and timely resolution of audit concerns raised in earlier reports.

The department noted that maintaining consistent unqualified audit opinions demonstrates progress in promoting accountability and proper management of public funds.

“The consistent clean audit reflects strengthened financial controls, improved compliance with Public Finance Management regulations, and timely resolution of audit issues,” the department stated.

The achievement also supports the government’s Zero-Fault Audit Campaign, an initiative championed by Felix Koskei as part of the broader public service reform agenda under President William Ruto.

The campaign calls on government institutions to strengthen internal controls and ensure strict compliance with financial regulations to eliminate audit queries.

Officials said the continued clean audit record underscores the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability and financial discipline in the management of public resources.
