Bien-Aimé Alusa Baraza, popularly known as Bien, the lead singer of the acclaimed Kenyan band Sauti Sol, has announced a new music challenge offering a $1,000 cash prize (approximately Ksh130,000) to aspiring artists.

The competition, dubbed the “Open Verse Challenge,” invites young musicians to create and share their own versions of his latest single, All My Enemies Are Suffering, for a chance to win the prize and gain exposure by getting featured on its remix.

Participants are tasked with downloading the instrumental, which includes a blank space for a new verse, and recording their own contribution—either sung or rapped—that aligns with the song’s theme and energy.

The challenge is open to all, with submissions accepted through platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where entrants are required to record a video and tag Bien, using the hashtag #AllMyEnemiesChallenge.

Since its release, the record has captivated audiences with its infectious Afro-Pop and Afro-Gospel fusion, dominating playlists across East and West Africa.

The $1,000 prize is a significant opportunity for emerging artists to fund their music careers, but the real deal is the chance to collaborate with Bien and reach his global fanbase.

The winner will be selected based on creativity, originality, and engagement, with Bien and his team personally reviewing submissions through to October.
