77km Electric Vehicles Parade Ushers in E-Mobility Conference

Kenya Power, in collaboration with GIZ Kenya and the Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK), have organised the third Annual E-mobility Stakeholders Conference and Expo 2025, scheduled for 5th and 6th May 2025, at KICC, Nairobi, Kenya.

The two-day conference and expo has been preceded by a 77-kilometre EV Parade, held Sunday, 4th May 2025, within Nairobi and its environs. The EV Parade, which saw over 200 EVs participating, aimed at enhancing awareness on nurturing EV Culture in Kenya. Free test drives for EVs will be offered to all members of the public today Monday 5th  and Tuesday 6th at the KICC courtyard.

At the flag-off of the EV Parade today, the Managing Director & CEO of Kenya Power, Dr. Eng. Joseph Siror, shared the company’s commitment to creating a vibrant e-mobility infrastructure across the country.

On her part, Hanna Salian, Program Director, Energy, Transport and Climate Change, GIZ Kenya, shared the commitment of the organisation in advancing e-mobility in Kenya.

Ali Mohamed, Special Climate Envoy for Kenya, working in the Executive Office of the President, shared key insights on the role of e-mobility in advancing the climate agenda resolutions and the efforts by the government to accelerate the uptake of EVs. He further explained how the government is helping to create a favourable environment for the public to adopt EVs through laws such as the Finance Bill.

On his part, Hezbon Mose – President, Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK) shared key statistics about the registration of EVs in Kenya.
