Radio 47 presenters: Cape Media, the company running the radio station and TV 47, has poached big names in radio hoping to pull audiences and help grow the station into a leading source of news and information.

While there are over 67 licensed TV stations in Kenya, the awards were dominated by a small group representing the most popular TV stations in the country. Prof. Simon Gicharu-owned TV 47 was among the winners in three categories, walking away with the joint most individual awards for a TV station on the night along with Citizen TV - a great outing for the station which was only officially launched in 2020.

The station has two studios, in Nairobi and Mombasa, and will be beaming live broadcasts in the two cities besides Kigali, Eldoret and Kisumu.

After leaving Citizen TV, Mwakazi joined WTV, which, however, shut down in December 2016. The station was owned by Foundation Media Group
