The Supreme Court has granted the National Super Alliance (NASA) restricted access to select IEBC data and equipment used to conduct August 8 General Election, marking a major victory for the Raila Odinga led petition which is seeking to invalidate President Uhuru’s re-election.

The top court in the land on Monday said the supervised read-only access to the data trove was aimed at ensuring that the integrity of IEBC systems is not compromised.

Lawyers representing Nasa leader Raila Odinga, led by James Orengo, were allowed to copy the data for their analysis and audit.

They have been allowed to access the following:

  • Number of servers
  • Firewall
  • Operating systems
  • Passwords
  • User types
  • IEBC ICT redundancy plan
  • Certified copies of penetration tests conducted prior to and during August 8 elections
  • GPRS locations of KIEMS
  • Polling station and it allocation
  • Technical agreements with providers
  • Log-ins and trail of users of KIEMS between August 5 until now.

A report on the process is expected to be filed in court on Tuesday by 5pm.
