Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna has called on all NRM members and supporters to take down President Uhuru Kenyatta’s portraits from the businesses and any premises they occupy. [watch video at the bottom of the article]

Speaking in a press conference on February 1, Miguna said they were going to produce legitimate portraits of Raila Odinga, who was ‘sworn in’ as The People’s President at Uhuru Park on January 30.

To the applause of other NRM officials, Miguna also said that the resistance was going to organize huge bonfires to burn President Kenyatta’s portraits, adding that his speech was protected under the constitution.

Miguna also congratulated National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on his ‘swearing-in’, recognizing him as President as insisting the last presidential election was rigged.

Miguna also dared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I to arrest him, saying he has been ready since he was a teenager. “Matiang’i if you’re looking for me to arrest me, to cook up charges, I am ready, I have been ready since I was a teenager,” said Miguna.

He also warned President Kenyatta: “Our rights are not negotiable we are not going to beg for those rights, they are enshrined, entrenched and protected. We are not going to negotiate with anyone over them.”

Miguna was present at Raila Odinga’s ‘swearing-in’ along with Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang who administered the oath.  (Source: Standard)
