Former police spokesman Eric Kiraithe has been appointed national government spokesman in changes aimed at ensuring timely communication with the public.  He will represent ministries while Manoah Esipisu will remain State House spokesperson.

He will operate from the Interior ministry while the Office of the State House Spokesperson will remain within the Executive Office of the President.

Mr Kiraithe, who has a “long and distinguished history of public service mainly in the security sector”, will take up his new post immediately, said State House deputy chief of staff Nzioka Waita.

“The government has made the changes to ensure consistent, coherent, and coordinated communication to the public on all matters relating to the national government’s agenda,” Waita said in a statement on Wednesday.

Mr Kiraithe is set to move from his current role as General Manager for Security Services at the Kenya Airports Authority.
