ABIDJAN, Cote d’Ivoire: July 25 (Xinhua) — A Commercial Court has been set up in Abidjan with a view of improving the business climate in Cote d’Ivoire, a judicial source told Xinhua on Tuesday. “It will be a special court that will offer appropriate solutions to the difficulties encountered by economic operators,” the head of the new court Francois Koumoin said. “Investments can only prosper within an environment that protects them,” he added while at the same time reiterating the importance of economic revival after the post-election crisis. Cote d’Ivoire is still trying to restore normality following the 2010-2011 post-election crisis that affected its economic sector. Improvement of the business climate by setting up competent jurisdictions in the sector was one of the concerns of Cote d’Ivoire’s authorities, as they sought to revive the country’s economy.
