NAIROBI, Tues December 13 – yuMobile has spiced up its product provision this festive season with the launch of a new Voice Chat service. With the new service dubbed yuChat, subscribers can talk and chat anonymously with other yuMobile subscribers countrywide without the risk of revealing their real identity or mobile number.

To access the service, yuMobile subscribers will be required to dial 4455 and follow the prompts to register their profiles. Once registered a user may search for profiles with similar interests, to chat with and extend invitations to others. All users have the option to accept or reject the invitation.

The yuChat service will be charged at sh1 per minute for registered users. “This is yet another innovative service, offering more than the traditional voice calls, for our subscribers,” yuMobile Country Manager Madhur Taneja said. “It underlines our commitment to deliver value to users in every segment of the market. This service goes beyond ordinary voice calling and will enable our subscribers to search in a secure environment for like-minded friends, hence providing a more interesting medium for mobile chatting which is growing rapidly in popularity.”

“As we all know Christmas is a time of year when the emphasis is on family and friends. Getting together with relatives is great, but can lead to feelings of loneliness if your loved ones are not around. We hope this service will ensure nobody feels lonely during this festive season.”

The voice chat service is the latest addition to the yuMobile product stable which already boasts of free calls all day, 50 cents per minute data, 50 cents sms across networks and more recently free facebook browsing, amongst many others.
