For a second year on the trot, Nairobi will host the annual East Africa digital Marketing Summit & Show, an event that brings together key players in the digital marketing space from the East African region.
All leading digital marketing companies in both public and private sectors are expected to attend the event that will be used to showcase the latest trends in online marketing. This comes at a time when mobile telephony penetration in Kenya stands at 13.9 million users. This is expected to spiral by an average of 40% per year between now and 2017 according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
“Smart phones have opened up a whole new market. Consumers always have their mobile devices with them and the challenge therefore is to create products that will capture their attention and give returns on investment,” said Martin Muli, from Eyeballs Marketing, an e-marketing company.
“Digital Fair brings together key stakeholders in the digital marketing industry to share ideas, understand the market dynamics, approach the market from a common front while showcasing products and services. We have over 50 exhibitors comprising developers and digital marketing agencies from across the region who have already booked their stands,” said Mr Muli.
The two-day event will be held on April 9 and 10 at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) following a successful one held at Sarit Centre last year which had 25 exhibitors from East Africa with more than 1000 visitors. With demand for lifestyle apps soaring every day, app developers are expected to showcase their latest designs at the fair.
